Warning! Assumption of Risk. I am aware that spectators, observers, attendees, ice skating, ice hockey, camps, clinics, competitions, running/walking and general physical exercise collectively “the Activity” involves certain inherent risks, dangers and hazards, which can result in serious personal injury or death. I am aware that ice skating/hockey rinks, collectively the Pettit National Ice Center (“PNIC”) contain dangers that can cause serious injury or death. I hereby freely agree to assume and accept all known and unknown risks of injury or loss arising out of the Activity at the PNIC. I recognize and acknowledge that risks of the Activity can be greatly reduced by: taking lessons, abiding by the PNIC Rules, wearing protective equipment and using common sense. RELEASE AND WAIVER OF CLAIMS AGREEMENT: For allowing me to participate in the Activity at the PNIC, I agree, to the fullest extent permitted by law as follows: 1) TO WAIVE ALL CLAIMS that I have or may have against the PNIC arriving out of the Activity at the PNIC. 2) TO RELEASE the PNIC from the following, but not limited to: all liability for any loss, damage, injury or expense that I (or my next of kin) may suffer, arising out of the Activity, from any cause whatsoever, including negligence or breach of contract on the part of the PNIC in the operation, supervision, design or maintenance of the PNIC. By wearing this badge I give approval for my image and/or likeness to be photographed and/or taped to be used in promotional pieces by the PNIC.

All conditions stated above apply to all skaters with a few exceptions.   Level 1 National Team Members do not need to pay the $33 fee provided they register prior to the deadline.  Late fees do apply. Either manual and/or electronic timing will capture results for metric races. Final times will be distributed in the electronic protocol after the competition and will be uploaded to speedskatingresults.com for sanctioned events only.  If additional races are offered (Mass Start, Team Pursuit etc.), you do NOT need to pay an additional fee in order to participate. If the starting time changes, we will notify you via your coach, email and/or phone. Sorry, no refunds for fees paid but not skated.  No credits for future events.  Few exceptions do apply related to weather, severe illness, or cancellations due to low attendance. The Pettit Center reserves the right to cancel any races that do not meet the required minimum of 14 registered skaters. The Chief Referee will change from week to week, but you can find his/her information above. If you need to scratch or request changes in your scheduled races, please notify the Chief Referee as soon as possible.
